Nantes, France / Valencia, Spain – Lhyfe, a leading producer of green and renewable hydrogen, has announced significant strides in the decarbonization of industrial processes with the successful completion of its first combustion tests using green hydrogen as a direct replacement for natural gas. The company has also marked a key milestone with its inaugural delivery of renewable hydrogen in Spain.

Decarbonizing Industry with Green Hydrogen In a pivotal move towards combating industrial CO2 emissions, which account for 20% of global output, Lhyfe successfully conducted combustion tests within the ceramics industry. These trials utilized green hydrogen, demonstrating its viability as a clean alternative to natural gas. Lhyfe's innovative "mixing kit" facilitates hydrogen-natural gas blends, enabling up to 100% hydrogen injection. This groundbreaking technology paves the way for similar applications across various energy-intensive sectors, including cement, steel, and glass manufacturing.

First Green Hydrogen Delivery in Spain Further solidifying its market presence, Lhyfe delivered three tonnes of renewable hydrogen to a ceramics manufacturer in the Valencia region of Spain over a three-week period. This green hydrogen was produced at Lhyfe's Bessières site in France, which boasts a daily production capacity of up to two tonnes, and transported efficiently using Lhyfe's robust fleet of hydrogen bulk containers.

Lhyfe's Spanish subsidiary, established in 2022, is actively developing several green hydrogen projects across the Iberian Peninsula. A notable endeavor includes a 15 MW facility in Vallmoll (Tarragona), projected to produce up to 5 tonnes of green hydrogen daily by 2027. Spain is emerging as a critical market for green hydrogen, driven by strong governmental support, abundant renewable electricity resources, and a growing industrial demand for sustainable energy transitions.

These achievements underscore Lhyfe's commitment to accelerating the adoption of green hydrogen and supporting global efforts towards a cleaner, more sustainable industrial future.
