TrueRE Oriana Power Signs ₹4,500 Crore MoU with Maharashtra for Green Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methanol Plant
Clean energy company TrueRE Oriana Power has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Maharashtra government to invest roughly ₹4,500 crore (approximately 500 million USD) in an integrated green fuels facility in the state, with the agreement signed to invest around Rs 4,500 crore in an integrated green hydrogen project in the state. The planned complex will house production units for green hydrogen alongside its downstream derivatives, including green ammonia and green methanol, in line with Maharashtra's renewable energy and industrial development policies, positioning the company as a multi-vertical player in India's emerging clean fuels ecosystem rather than just a solar power developer. As part of the deal, state authorities have committed to smoothing the project's path forwardby supporting the company in obtaining necessary approvals, permissions, registrations and statutory clearances through relevant state authorities, and the venture will also qualify for fiscal incentives under Maharashtra's existing industrial policy framework. The commitment is a sizeable one relative to the company's current scale — its net worth stood at ₹785.60 crore as of March 31, 2026 — meaning execution will likely hinge on strategic partnerships or additional capital-raising as the project moves through its phased rollout.
