Anka EnergyX, a Sri Lankan sustainable energy company, has partnered with Harnyss USA, a global leader in cutting-edge hydrogen energy storage technologies, to introduce smart grids for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country. Under this program, Anka EnergyX recently hosted the knowledge-sharing conference "The Power of Hydrogen" and the first open discussion on hydrogen energy source and smart grid at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. The conference aims to raise awareness and promote dialogue on the benefits of integrating hydrogen energy storage and smart grid technology with renewable energy sources, such as solar, hydro, and wind, which Sri Lanka has already heavily invested in.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister's Secretary, Mr. Anura Dissanayake, authorities of the Sri Lanka Sunitya Energy Authority and the Ministry of Industry, CEOs, directors of energy companies, corporate, small and medium entrepreneurs, engineers, and other stakeholders. Through this program, Smart Grid technology enables entrepreneurs to better manage existing local energy infrastructure, integrate new renewable energy sources, and create a more resilient, reliable, and sustainable energy system that benefits the environment and economy. Additionally, it allows the private sector to better insulate itself from shocks to the country's energy and power infrastructure.

Mr. Kirby Smith, CEO of Harnyss USA, commented on this program. “Our goal is to bring state-of-the-art hydrogen energy storage technology, scalable and flexible to use by small and medium-sized enterprises. With Sri Lanka's large-scale industry and grid technology, we can help balance energy supply and demand, optimize the power grid, and improve overall energy security. Our solutions help the Sri Lankan business sector and the country as a whole to overcome the challenges of intermittent renewable energy sources along with other risks in the system and achieve energy security.

“We are excited to partner with Harnyss USA to introduce their patented technology to Sri Lanka,” said Mr. Jude Xavier, Director/CEO of Anka EnergyX, “We believe this technology will play a critical role in creating a more sustainable and reliable energy system. We hope that this effort will have a great impact on the country's energy system and make Sri Lanka independent of energy sources.

Demonstrating the country's commitment to a sustainable and environmentally friendly future, the “Power of Hydrogen” conference marked an important milestone in Sri Lanka's energy sector. With the support of industry leaders, its primary objective was to build a strong and stable platform for Sri Lanka to achieve its goal of a reliable, sustainable, and reliable power grid.
